The Electronic Sports Federation of India (ESFI) has kicked off the National Esports Championship (NESC) 2024 for the upcoming BRICS Esports Championship (BEC), a nine-nation tournament hosted by the Russian Esports Federation in Moscow on November 9 and 10, 2024
Registrations for the NESC are open till Sunday, October 6. The NESC is open to all Indian citizens, and athletes can compete on either PlayStation 5 or PC in the game title of Tekken 8. The matches will be played from October 8 onward, where the top two athletes will qualify to go on to represent India at the BEC.
Other than India, the BEC will see the participation of Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. The athletes from these invited countries will compete for a prize pool of RUB 1500000 (approx. INR 13.32 lacs).

Meanwhile, the BEC will be held at the VK Play Arena in Moscow. The competing players will have a group stage in the round-robin format and a playoff in the Olympic system format. The finals, with spectators, will be held on November 10, 2024.
