The League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) announced it would introduce a promotion and relegation system to the Asia Pacific ecosystem, now known as the LCP Promotion Series (P&R), to enhance competitiveness and foster diverse representation. In addition to existing domestic leagues, the P&R tournament will also include a wild card slot, providing wider access to the LCP.

Participating regions for the wild card slot include Indonesia, Malaysia / Singapore, Philippines, South Asia, and Thailand, where the winner of each respective domestic organised play tournament will compete in the LCP Wild Card Playoffs from 28-31 August.

The winner of the Playoffs will move onto LCP P&R, representing the wild card regions and compete for the Free-for-All Guest spot live at the LCP Arena in Taipei, for the opportunity to be promoted into the LCP!

PARTICIPATING REGIONS

Regions and their corresponding tournaments that are enrolled into the LCP Wild Card Playoffs include:

·       League of Legends Nusantara Cup - Yang Dae Pal (Indonesia)

·       League of Legends Titans Cup - Faerie Charm (Malaysia / Singapore)

·       Liga Republika - Inferno Esports* (Philippines)

·       Legends Ascend South Asia - S8UL Esports (South Asia)

·       League of Legends Thailand Series - FULL SENSE (Thailand)

The winners of each tournament will represent their region at the LCP Wild Card Playoffs.

*As per Riot's participation guidelines, organizations were informed that they cannot have two teams competing in the same region that includes a promotion and relegation system.

As WPE is competing in PCS 2025, their academy team will not be eligible to participate in promotion and relegation even though they won Liga Republika. This ineligibility also extends to any qualifying tournaments, such as the LCP Wild Card Playoffs.

As such, the runner-up, Inferno Esports, will represent Liga Republika at the LCP Wild Card Playoffs.*

LCP WILD CARD PLAYOFFS FORMAT

The LCP Wild Card Playoffs will feature five teams battling it out in a Single Round Robin. Each series will consist of two games, with a points-based scoring system used to determine the top three teams advancing to the Bracket Stage.

·       Win (2-0) = 2 points

·       Tie (1-1) = 1 point each

·       Loss (0-2) = 0 points

The 2nd and 3rd place teams will then clash in the semi-final. The winner goes on to face the 1st place team in the Final. Both bracket matches will kick off with a 1v1 for side selection.
