HP OMEN Transcend 14 Gaming laptop features a sleek and simple design. Weighing just 1.63 Kg, this laptop makes it easy to carry around. When we open the laptop, the LED-backlit keyboard alongside four zones of customizable backlight system reflects the perfect gaming vibe. Despite the compact size, this laptop has a powerful build and avails an all-metal construction. The hinge is very solid along with a well-designed cooling system and air vents at its back.

OMEN Transcend 14 has plenty of I/O ports that makes user experience more seamless. It contains a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI 2.1 port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, one Thunderbolt 4 connection for charging, and one Type-C USB 3.2 Gen2 port.

Comfortable Keyboard & Touchpad

The laptop comes with a compact and comfortable keyboard which helps users to work for extended hours. The keyboard delivers a seamless typing experience. Key travel is generous and facilitates a fluid and comfortable typing experience. The transparent keycap edges allow RGB lights to shine through beautifully, creating an eye-catching effect.

The trackpad doesn’t seem to be a glass top, rather a rougher texture is there. However, while working on the OMEN Transcend 14 at our office, we found it performing quite smoothly.

The HP OMEN Transcend 14 features HP True Vision 1080p FHD IR camera that delivers decent video quality during streaming sessions or video calls. Alongside, temporal noise reduction technology helps minimize noise, supporting enhanced art effect capture in low light as well.  The integrated dual-array digital microphones capture audio perfectly, while picking up voice clearly from both sides and reducing background noise significantly. During gameplay, recording basic content, and facilitating virtual meetings, the conjunction of HP True Vision 1080p FHD IR camera and temporal noise reduction technology gave us a fluid experience during the testing of this gaming laptop with our experts.

OLED Display

The OMEN Transcend 14 features a 14-inch diagonal OLED display with a 2.8K resolution, 48-120 Hz variable refresh rate with a faster 0.2ms response time. Overall, OMEN delivers faster response time which is a crucial requirement of a gaming laptop for playing competitive games. Low blue light technology reduces strain on the eyes. Alongside, SDR- 400 nits of brightness and HDR- 500 nits and a Contrast Ratio of 1,000,000:1 delivers an eye-pleasing visual experience. The IMAX Certified Display in HDR mode: 1.07 billion colors provide stunning color depth, allowing users to view the true colors of the visuals.

The above-mentioned combination makes this device a perfect solution to handle multitasking demanding tasks, allowing for faster data processing.

We played games on this laptop to test the compatibility and performance during intense gaming hours. The laptop performed really well and we were amazed by its smooth performance.

The laptop is equipped with Windows 11 Home 64 Plus Single Language version.

Battery

The gaming laptop is powered by a 71 Wh Battery with a top-up fast charging feature. On a single charge, we could easily use it for a stretch of 8-9 hours comfortably, while we were editing videos and documents, and browsing the web. However, when playing games for longer we needed to keep the charger plugged in as it drains the battery faster.

Networking

For networking purposes, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless card.
