NDM News Network

A winner has been announced for the Flash Party Spring Open, the game’s first ever North American prize pool tournament. The competition saw 512 participants battle it out for their share of the $10,000 pool, but it was player Lilybunn who took home the top prize in a gripping grand finale.

This tense showdown saw Lilybunn win 2 rounds over second place winner, Mj, who was able to even the score to 2-2. However, despite a valiant comeback, they were narrowly shut down in the fifth and final round by Lilybunn’s Chilli, a climactic end to the Flash Party Spring Open. You can catch all the action by watching the replay below.

Not only did Lilybunn win the top prize of $5,000, they will be presented with a uniquely customised in-game avatar, forever immortalising their victory. Another highlight from the Spring Open was the Losers final between Mj and Jmafia, a sudden-death skirmish which went down to the last second.

Eagle-eyed viewers were treated to a bounty of Easter egg codes being dropped throughout the livestream, which could be redeemed for in-game goodies including an Easter egg Hero Banner, Aura Chests, Lucky Coins & Sticker Fragments.

On Twitter, both Flash Party and VGBC received high praise for the tourney, with fans already looking forward to future comps. A full recap of the tournament is now available to watch via VGBootCamp with Twitch drops still enabled.

The top 8 featured a diverse lineup of chosen fighters with 7 different main characters, making for an entertaining watch. Exhibition matches also took place, hosting 4 star players from the Smash Bros. community who took part in the Flash Party Spring Open - Coney, Zain, Void, and Riddles.

The tournament’s success is just the latest milestone for Flash Party which continues to grow following the launch of Season 9 which includes a fresh wave of content and gameplay features.
