NDM News Network

Skyesports has wrapped up the open-for-all THE FINALS Community Cup, with Team IND dominating the tournament to become the champions. With this victory, they have also bagged $6,000 (about INR 5 lakhs) of the $10,000 prize pool.

The FINALS Community Cup kicked off on Aug. 2, 2024, with its first Split. Teams battled it out in the Split 1, Split 2, and the Last-Chance Qualifier to make it to the Main Event, where the bragging rights and a prize pool of $10,000 was on the line. Team IND had a flawless run throughout the tournament, starting off with a victory in Split 1 to earn a spot in the Main Event of THE FINALS Community Cup.

They continued their winning momentum here, cruising through the Upper Bracket to set up a Grand Finals bout against Team HAVK. While Team HAVK were one of the favorites, featuring renowned players such as Killua Gaming and Hades Plays, they were no match for the formidable Team IND.

Team IND once again showed why they are one of the best teams in the country right now, with a dominant 3-0 victory in the exciting 5v5 Terminal Attack mode to become THE FINALS Community Cup’s inaugural champions.

Commenting on the victory, Team IND’s captain Kshitiz “Tempest” Mishra said, “With Skyesports affirming a long-term plan for THE FINALS in India, we were one of the early adopters of the game and the Terminal Attack mode, which is the one of the reasons for our dominance. We look forward to competing in more such tournaments in the near future.”

Skyesports has teased the next tournament for THE FINALS in India, which is set to adopt a city-based format. More details will be revealed soon on THE FINALS India Instagram, X, and YouTube channels.

A still from THE FINALS Esports Revolution Showdown in Chennai

Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO, Skyesports, said, “This is the second major esports tournament for THE FINALS, after our Esports Revolution Showdown in Chennai where Team Mortal emerged as the champions. We saw over 56 teams register in THE FINALS Community Cup across both splits, showcasing the growing interest towards the game in India. The next THE FINALS event is already being planned, with a city-based format to ensure regional penetration. We will have information about that really soon.”
