After an Early Access launch on Meta Quest in July, survival adventure Neolithic Dawn continues to go from strength to strength. The team at Neolithic LLC has been hard at work improving the highly anticipated VR experience, taking on board player feedback to roll out a myriad of quality-of-life updates.
As an Early Access game that’s continually being enhanced and refined, the team has released three major patches for Neolithic Dawn since launch. Targeting a range of gameplay features and mechanics, community suggestions have led to a number of fixes. These include taming animals in co-op, improving spear and stabbing physics, fixing graphical glitches and skill tree balancing.
"The team has been pushing out weekly updates to fix bugs that may have affected your first experience, as we continue shaping Neolithic Dawn into a survival game the community can be proud to have supported from the beginning!” said James Bellian, CEO & Founder of Neolithic. “The feedback we’ve received on Neolithic Dawn in these first few weeks has been invaluable. We want to thank everyone playing in Early Access for their trust in the team - and for all the reviews, bug reports, and ideas for future updates!”

Set across five open-world maps in North America, players are whisked back to a time when they can discover prehistoric creatures and ancient Ice Age civilisations. Neolithic Dawn is a true survival game where factors including hunger, thirst and warmth all have to be accounted for. To maintain that sense of realism throughout, players will have to handcraft weapons and tools, hunt animals, and prepare for the ever-changing seasons.
Neolithic Dawn is available now as an Early Access release on the Horizon Store for Meta Quest. A Steam edition is in development with a launch date coming soon. Neolithic LLC has an expansive roadmap planned during Early Access for Meta Quest in 2025, with further details to be announced.
