UK publisher Kwalee and independent studio Maeth have announced SPRAWL Zero, a fast-paced cyberpunk shooter and prequel to the 2023 title SPRAWL. Inspired by classic 2000s console FPS games, SPRAWL Zero is coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

In SPRAWL Zero, players take on the role of FIVE, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier. As the city plunges into chaos, they must take down a radical techno-religious group. Players can choose multiple paths and alternate approaches, wielding a massive arsenal of weapons and FIVE’s cybernetics as tools of destruction.

"SPRAWL zero is the culmination of everything I love about video games and a love letter to Y2K culture. I grew up playing incredible, genre defining shooters in the early 2000s, like Half-Life 2, Halo, and F.E.A.R. Giants defined by immersive settings and gameplay that captured my imagination. That specific era of gaming feels lost to time, and I want everyone who plays SPRAWL zero to experience that same sense of wonder I felt back then,” says Carlos Lizarraga, Studio Head at Maeth

Alongside the announcement, Kwalee and Maeth have released a brand-new trailer packed with fast, kinetic combat. It offers a first look at the game’s world, the factions vying for power, and the destructive tools at FIVE’s disposal.
